Discussion Groups and other events

Explore Quaker Life!

Following our highly successful Quaker Quest we are offering a series of discussion evenings to look further at some of the issues raised, and other events.

All these meetings will be at the Meeting House, in the Children's Room, starting at 7.30 pm and finishing between 9 and 9.15 pm. You will need to enter by the single entrance door as the main Meeting Room is in use by another group on Wednesday evenings. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available before the meetings, and afterwards for anyone who wants to stay a little longer.

We are planning most of the meetings for Wednesday evenings, on the second and fourth Wednesday each month. And what we are planning is two interleaved programmes, so that on the second Wednesdays the meetings will be directed towards a sharing of spiritual experience whereas the fourth Wednesdays will be more traditional discussions based on “Quaker questions”. On the second Wednesday in each month, the meetings will start with a half-hour Meeting for Worship, to which you will be welcome even if you do not want to stay to the sharing session afterwards. The topics for all meetings will be related to specific sections of 'Advices and Queries' (A&Q), a small booklet which many Quakers find very provocative and helpful. Copies are available at the Meeting House, or you can see an online version at http://qfp.quakerweb.org.uk/qfp1-02.html
